Home Warranties - Taking the Fear Out of Building a Home

Building a new home can be overwhelming in a lot of ways. Not only is it a large financial commitment, but there are a lot of decisions to be made in how your new home will be designed, what it will look like and even where it’s located.

With all the work that goes into building your home, the last thing you want to have on your mind is what could go wrong once your furniture is all moved in, the keys are in your hand and your car is parked in the garage. But as any homeowner knows, things break.

That’s where home warranties come in. Many builders offer a warranty on the house they’ve just finished building for you. It covers things like mechanical systems, the roof, the cabinets, etc.

Warranties are one of the advantages of new home construction (when you build with a builder that offers one that is). It’s like buying a new car — you can get the color you want, make sure it has all the features you’re looking for and the dealer covers certain repairs after you drive it off the lot. Buying a “used” house definitely has its perks, but you get what you get and no one is offering to repair the A/C if it goes out the week after you close.

Check Your Builder’s Priorities

There are dozens of builders to choose from in southern Delaware, and each one has its own list of priorities when it comes to building a home. For some, it’s price. They want to build a house at the lowest cost possible. For others, it’s to build the most luxurious house with every bell and whistle in the most prestigious communities. For us, it’s building a home that you can feel, well, at home in. And part of feeling at home is having confidence that the things that make your house run will keep working like they should.

That’s why we offer a limited warranty on our homes. We’re confident in the quality of the houses we build, and if something goes wrong, we want to make it right.

At Aurora Homes, we believe our clients deserve a great home — not just a house — with a great design, at a great value. When we meet, we’ll talk about how we can start building a home that fits your life.
